When we moved into our first home we were in, "rip this out" and "tear this down" mode without realistically knowing just how long it takes to line up different contractors to get the job done (it looks so easy on those HGTV shows!). Our kitchen took an eternity after scheduling conflicts started happening between the plumber, electrician and the counter top fabricator! We were washing dishes in the bathroom tub for much longer than we anticipated! Two days before our kitchen project was finished we had an epiphany - "Wow, we should have installed a utility sink." It would have been great not only for the dishes, but cleaning everything else our contractors washed in our tub! Seems we all have our little "should have done that" moments all to often when we're fixing up our first home. This post is funny and so true.
